Project Summary
The training consists of a 22-hour program. The training will begin with the role of literature in foreign language teaching, the research of literary genres and their suitability for different age groups and proficiency levels, and the explanation of theoretical frameworks for the adaptation of literary works to language teaching. Then, how literary genres such as short stories, novels, poetry and drama can be used in language teaching for different age groups will be discussed one by one, theoretically and practically. The program, in which 6 faculty members from 6 different universities will teach, aims to equip participants with the necessary skills to effectively integrate literary works into foreign language teaching. The scope of the course will go beyond theoretical concepts to include practical applications and provide a comprehensive understanding of the subject. In the context of digital competence, which is one of the 21st century skills, language teaching of literary genres will be demonstrated practically to 4th grade English teacher candidates through online workshops. Therefore, this training; Learning environment simulations on how various literary genres can be used in foreign language teaching for different age groups, and literary works in the genres of poetry, drama, short stories and novels will be used as tools, creating lesson plans through group work on the online platform, where participants and educators from different provinces can easily come together without being limited by place, time and financial resources.
